Both KJ Sawka and ill.Gates have been busy shaping the next generation of bass producers through a series of workshops, teaching the ways of Ableton Live and live performance. The Rules
- The ‘Unsung Heroes Remix Contest’ is open to all citizens of earth and all ages.
- We love ALL TYPES of music, any genre/style remix can be submitted. Finished and mastered tracks preferred.
- You must use SOME of the Unsung Heroes ‘seed pack’, however, you aren’t required to use all seeds. You can remix, transform, and build upon the ‘seed pack’ material provided.
- Submissions will only be valid in mp3 or wav format. Soundcloud links or any other format will disqualify your entry.
- Submit your original remix only once, submitting the exact same remix more than once will not increase your odds at winning and may disqualify you if abused. To increase your odd’s at winning you may submit multiple remixes that have not yet been submitted. However, each submission email may only contain one (1) individual, unique remix. Entries that include multiple remixes within a single submission email will be disposed and not be deemed valid.
- Only 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners will be selected and can only be selected by official judges.
- Contest entries must be sent to ‘iwannawin@impossiblerecs.com’, any entries sent to any other address will not be counted as valid entries.
- Entry email subject should be titled: ‘Unsung Heroes – Remix Contest’.
Unsung Heroes EP
Following their recently debuted Unsung Heroes Tour, KJ Sawka and ill.Gates release their first collaboration and EP, Unsung Heroes. The four track banger features the original mix of Unsung Heroes, a grimey Dubstep remix by Architekt, a funky MidTempo vocal rework by SugarBeats featuring Calysta Cheyenne, and a speaker-shaking VIP Drum and Bass mix.
Taking you on a galactic journey far beyond the reaches of space, saving the universe one dance floor at a time, are the ‘Unsung Heroes’! Swooping in is “Ableton mastermind” ill.Gates and “the human drum machine” KJ Sawka. They have come together for a project like no other to bend your mind and shake your core, making you feel like it’s never enough,leaving you hungry for more. The ‘Unsung Heroes’ EP is set free filling your ears with dirty basslines and high tempo breaks sending you on a dynamic musical roller coaster. This EP comes with a DnB dance floor VIP and two remixes. Architekt’s remix crushes you with his signature bass assault and sneaking in is an unexpected original remix by the Sugarbeats featuring vocals by Calysta Cheyenne.

At the end of the day, it is the sum total of your choices as an artist that define your sound, and levels 2 – 6 will give you the experience of actually completing tracks to add to your portfolio.
