NAMM 2016 Highlights: Teenage Engineering OP-Z Multitimbral Synthesizer


In this video, we visited the Teenage Engineering booth at the popular NAMM trade show to a get a first-hand look at the OP-Z multitimbral synthesizer.

Taking place every year at the Disney Convention Centre in Anaheim, California, the NAMM show serves as a hub for people wanting to seek out the newest innovations in musical products, recording technology, sound, and lighting. NAMM’s activities and programs are designed to promote music making to people of all ages and set the stage for world-renowned brands to showcase ground-breaking and innovative products that will inspire musicians across the coming year and beyond.

In this video, we visited the Teenage Engineering booth to a get a first-hand look at the ultra-portable wireless OP-Z 16 track multitimbral synthesizer labeled as ‘the little monster.’ Expanding the line of Pocket Operators, the OP-Z is an all-in-one step sequencer and performance box featuring full sequenceable parameter locks, is capable of video synthesis, has wireless capabilities with Bluetooth MIDI, and introduces a new technology they are calling step components. Teenage Engineering describes the OP-Z as supporting ‘dual domain synthesis with an equal focus on video and audio creation.’
