Elektron Discontinues Monomachine and Machinedrum

Elektron have announced that they are discontinuing production and sale of their popular Machinedrum and Monomachine musical instruments. Both machines have a limited stock that will continue to sell on the company’s website until June 21. After the 21st these machines will officially become “classics” so jump now if you’ve been wanting one. Read more at Elektron

Red Arturia Microbrute and Minibrute

Arturia have launched a special edition red version of their Mini and Microbrute synths that are currently available at Sweetwater.

FXpansion’s Geist is a powerful drum machine and sequencer plugin that is championed by many music producers and sound designers. The company has recently launched an upgraded version of the software which is available for $199. Read more at FXpansion.

 

iConnectivity Mio Advanced MIDI Interface

iConnectivity make some of our favorite MIDI products so we are very excited to hear that the company has designed an advanced MIDI interface. The Mio 10 is a 10 channel MIDI interface that can operate as a stand-alone interface or it can connect up to 6 Apple or PC computers at the same time and offers built-in MIDI merging, filtering, remapping, and routing functions. REAKTOR Blocks 1.2 Update

The REAKTOR Blocks 1.2 update introduces new CV and MIDI connectivity. Calibrate pitch signals for accurate use with external hardware oscillators, use Blocks to convert any signal into gates and triggers, and send pitch, gate, and modulation signals from a Blocks patch to REAKTOR’s MIDI out. Sony Sells Acid and Sound Forge

“It’s the end of an era – but maybe not such a golden era. Once upon a time, ACID and Sound Forge were each industry-leading software tools, originally developed by Sonic Foundry. Hive Touch Synthesizer

The Hyve Touch Synthesizer is an inexpensive DIY synth building kit that was designed by Skot Wiedman who has been teasing the synth community with videos of this upcoming project. We don’t know much about this synth yet but we’re waiting to learn more and you can learn more too by signing up for the Hive mailing list. ”Be melodic and expressive, or drum and tap. Here are some fun ways to explore 3D touch and performance gestures on this little synthesizer.”

AudioThing SR-88 VST

SR-88 is a sample-based plugin emulation of the Sound Master Memory Rhythm SR-88, which is a rare analog drum machine from the 1980s. The instrument features 5 classic analog sounds: Kick, Snare, Hi Hat 1, Hi Hat 2, and Cymbal, which can be pitched, panned or mixed independently. You can additionally shape the sound with the Low Pass Filter (Zero Delay Feedback), Overdrive, Compressor and Reverb.
