Capture and Remix the World w/ SOUNDHUNTERS

Dubspot is proud to support SOUNDHUNTERS, a new interactive project that explores the sampling of everyday sounds around the world and an experience that enables you to reinvent these sounds into original musical creations.

soundhunters

SOUNDHUNTERS is an international music experience that enables producers and music fans alike to explore sounds and listen to the world through interactive documentary films and playful music tools. The SOUNDHUNTERS experience connects you with a group of amazing artists who have sampled everyday sounds around the world and made those sounds available to transform into new music! It’s a playful tribute to a cultural remix that lays foundations for a proper language – a musical one.

The SOUNDHUNTERS experience is designed to allow creators’ to be both an observer and a participant in a collective international musical experience. Become a SOUNDHUNTER through three interactive stages: WATCHREC, and CREATE.

Watch | Interactive Documentaries

Begin your SOUNDHUNTERS experience through four short interactive films about the creative adventures of four renowned musicians looking for sounds and inspiration in four cities around the world. At the end of each experience, you can create music with sounds captured by the artists in each city.

Rec | Mobile/Tablet App

The SOUNDHUNTERS app enables you to easily capture sounds in your daily life and turn them into a set of samples ready to integrate your music tracks without any necessary musical skills.

Available for iOS, Android, and desktop computers, the app makes it fun to record, edit, and add audio effects to sounds. The app is also a social network for sound hunters giving users access to a sound database where you can find a variety of sounds to use in your music compositions.

Create | Music Generator

CREATE is a web-based music generator that gives you the tools to compose your own tracks, communicate with SOUNDHUNTERS all over the world, and join the SOUNDHUNTERS project through exciting competitions. Explore sounds from REC soundbank and turn the world into an infinite music instrument using sounds from the films, your own sounds, and those captured by other SOUNDHUNTERS.
