Join accomplished performer and instructor Justin Aswell for a two part workshop on Maschine workflow and finger drumming techniques at our brand new Dubspot LA space in Los Angeles. Justin will explain his creative workflow for production using Maschine in stages such as sketching, layering, orchestration, stem exporting, MIDI transferring, and arranging. In the second part of this workshop, Justin will focus on daily warm up exercises that he uses to build speed and accuracy, as well as introduce his newly released Melodics series.

About Justin Aswell

Justin is a Producer, MC, and DJ most known for his “Finger Drumming” on Maschine/MPC type devices. He also plays drums, keyboards, guitar, cello, and bass. Studying music since he can remember, Justin shares his knowledge teaching mixing and mastering courses and actively commits to the music scene promoting shows and performing in several groups such as Mr. Invisible, Hectagons, The Vagabond Bros, Kali Yuga, Murdered By Loved Ones, and Vizionarium. You can also catch Justin on his internet radio show called The Loop Hole that airs Wednesday nights on Plaza Midwood Community Radio.

About This Program

At Dubspot, you’ll learn to produce and perform music with Maschine by becoming familiar with its hardware and software simultaneously. You’ll learn sampling and recording techniques to add original material into your productions, use advanced automation features and cutting-edge effects for sound design, and explore Massive, a powerful synthesizer that’s included with Maschine. You’ll also discover how plug-in instruments and effects can expand your creative workflow, and how additional hardware instruments and controllers can be integrated into your setup. Finally, you will also learn how to integrate Maschine into a DAW as a plug-in effect or MIDI controller, with examples shown in Ableton Live and Logic Pro.
